Lokoja – All the 719 pilgrims from Kogi State to this year’s Hajj have all returned home safely.
The state Amirul Hajj, Mallam Zakariyahu Aliyu (Zaak) confirmed this to Vital News in Lokoja on Sunday.
He said the first batch of the pilgrims arrived on Saturday morning , July 15th while the second batch arrived in the morning of Sunday, 16th July.
“They have all successfully left for their different homes to await the collection of their big luggages,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman of the Kogi State Commission, Sheikh Luqman Imam Abdullahi has directed that all the pilgrims’ big luggage should be conveyed to Lokoja.
The Commission’s Director of Admin. Alhaji Hussain Obadaki is co-ordinating the evacuation exercise.
According to Abdullahi, this is to alleviate the pilgrims of the herculean challenges of collecting the luggage in Abuja.
He said the date for the collection will be communicated to the pilgrims as soon as all have been conveyed here.
The Chairman on behalf of all of the officials of the Commission ” heartily congratulate the pilgrims and the entire people of the state for this year’s successful Hajj and pray it to be an acceptable one.”
