Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), have the Deputy National Secretary, Setonji Koshoedo, as the acting National Secretary of the party.
The governors took the decision to finally resolve the dispute between Senator Samuel Anyanwu and Sunday Ude-Okoye over the position of the National Secretary.
Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, announced this decision to journalists in a communique issued at the end of the governors meeting in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to him, Koshoedo’s appointment is temporary, allowing the South East Zone to nominate a permanent National Secretary, who will be presented to the party at the next National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.
Furthermore, the PDP governors reaffirmed their opposition to the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, emphasizing that they have already initiated legal proceedings to challenge the decision.
They also rejected the idea of the PDP forming coalition with any other political party.
