Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has commiserated with the government and people of Oyo State and the Olubadan-in-Council over the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Olalekan Balogun.
In a condolence message signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo expressed shock over the death of the Olubadan whom he said celebrated his second anniversary on the throne of his forefathers two days earlier.
According to the statement, Governor Ododo noted that the late Olubadan was a progressive traditional ruler whose reign within a period of two years brought about the sustenance of peace and stability in Ibadan land and the Oyo State Traditional Council in general.
The Governor prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Olubadan and for the Almighty Allah to grant his family and the entire people of Ibadan land the fortitude to deal with the passing of the late Monarch.
The late Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Olalekan Balogun who ascended the throne of his forefathers on March 11, 2022, died on Thursday and has been laid to rest in Ibadan the Oyo State Capital in accordance with Islamic rites.
