Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State on Monday,inaugurated a branch of the Bank of Industry’s (BOI) office, in Lokoja with a call on business owners in the state to take advantage of the bank to boost their trades.
The governor particularly urged owners of small and medium scale industries to tap into the opportunities offered by the bank’s presence in the state to expand their industries.
According to Ododo, the bank’s presence is expected to transform state’s industrial sector and boost the state’s economic development.
Governor Ododo noted that he is not just commissioning a building but he is unveiling a future that would anchor on belief that is powered by the collective will of a people determined to become the economic nerve centre of the country.
He said : “It is with all sense of fulfillment that I welcome the Bank of Industry to Lokoja, Kogi State.
“Your presence here is not just an investment but a statement that Kogi State is ready and open.
“With the Bank of Industry on our side and confidence, we cannot get it wrong any longer.”
The governor commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for paying a special attention to Kogi State.
He also assured the staff of the Bank that his administration would do everything possible to give them a conducive atmosphere to operate in the state.
In his remark, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Industry, Dr Olasupo Olusi stated that the presence of the bank would enable SMEs, large scale manufacturers, cooperatives, women and youth led businesses and other business ventures in the state to thrive.
According to him, the BOI will assist the businesses in the state to grow, create jobs and contribute meaningfully to the inclusive economic development of the State. (vitalnewsngr.com)
