Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has approved the constitution of a new board for Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi.
The constitution of the new board follows the sack of former
international, Dominic Iorfa from his position as the Executive Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi.
Members of the new board are Dr Philip Nongu, Chairman, Dr Iorngulum Malu, Secretary , Chief Solomon Andiir, Member,, Mr. Harry Yachi, Member,
Mr. Francis Ejiga, Member and Sir James Iorpuu, government Representative.
The governor also returned the Club to the direct supervision of the Benue Sports Council.
A statement issued on Saturday by the Governor’s Technical Adviser on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Solomon Iorpev, confirmed all these changes.
The governor then directed that all handovers be done immediately.
The statement read : “The Executive Governor of Benue state, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has directed that with immediate effect, the Lobi Stars FC be under Benue Sports Council.
“A new Board of Lobi Stars FC has also been constituted.
“The membership includes: Dr. Philip Nongu – Chairman
ii. Dr. Iorngulum Malu – Secretary
iii. Chief Solomon Andiir – Member
iv. Mr. Harry Yachi – Member
v. Mr. Francis Ejiga – Member
vi. Sir James Iorpuu – Govt. Reps
“The Governor has directed that all Management handovers must be completed before midnight today, Saturday, September 7, 2024.”
