The Nigeria Forest Security Services (NFSS) in Kogi State has successfully rescued three kidnapped farmers and seized an AK-47 rifle with 22 live ammunition from a group of kidnappers operating along the Abuja-Lokoja expressway.
According to reports obtained by Vital News at NFSS state headquarters at about 15:00 hours on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, “the NFSS received a distress call from an eyewitness and swiftly responded to the scene, engaging the kidnappers in a gun battle.
“The kidnappers were overpowered, and one of them abandoned his weapon and fled.
“The recovered rifle and ammunition have been handed over to Hon Chairman, Lokoja Local Government Area on his directives.
“The rescued farmers were reunited with their families in good health.
