Ex-Super Falcons Coach, Ismaila Mabo, dies at 80

A former coach of the Super Falcons, Ismaila Mabo, died in Jos, Plateau State in the early hours of Monday at the age of 80 years

His younger brother, Salisu Nakande Mamuwa confirmed his death on a social media.

The late Mabo also for many years played for the national team, Green/Super Eagles of Nigeria alongside his junior brother, late Yakubu Mabo.

“Inna lillahi wa Inna ilaihir raji’un , i just lost my elder brother this morning, Coach Mabo Ismaila , former Chief Coach of Super Falcons of Nigeria, may Aljanna Firdausi b his final abode, Ameen thumma Ameen,“ he wrote.

Ismaila was the head coach of the senior women’s national team at the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup, 2000 Summer Olympics and 2004 Summer Olympics.
