Nigeria Consumer Protection Network (NCPN) says President Bola Tinubu has further deepen true federalism by assenting to Electricity Act, 2023.

President of NCPN who sated this in a statement said by the action, Tinubu has also redefined inclusiveness.
“Before now, our mindsets was wrongly contrived based on Unitary System of Government and hangover of Military Diarchy or many years of Military misrule.
“By deregulation and
breaking monopoly of the Electricity Market , at least the states now has ample opportunity to excel.
They can now generates ,
transmits and distribute
electricity within the 36 States.
“Those who are grown up during the days of
Regional Government in Nigeria 1st Republic may see things differently from younger generations of Nigerians .
“The summary of this is that, it will break market monopoly and promote competitive electricity market and give end users the right to alternatives.
“The 36 States Government can now partner with
Local and Foreign Investors to invest in Electricity Sector Value Chain within their Jurisdiction/;States and these will be devoid of unnecessary bureaucratic bottle neck of notorious Federal Government Institutions that have in the past deliberately frustrated efforts by states like Lagos State and Rivers State in addressing challenges of stable power supply in their domain.
“These will create employment opportunities, upscale social security ,re – industrialisation, sustainable growth and development at the grassroots and nationwide,” Olubiyo explained.
