Governor, Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State says the state’s newly built airport is for cargo and passenger operations.
Oyebanji made the clarification in Ado Ekiti at the weekend.
He said the initial designation of the airport as a cargo airport does not preclude it from flying passengers.
According to him, the airport is capable of handling both passenger and cargo operations.
The governor’s clarification laid to rest concerns that the airport’s cargo designation would limit its functionality.
With this dual operational capacity, the Ekiti Airport is poised to boost economic activities and facilitate travel in and out of the state.
Governor Oyebanji’s assurance has been welcomed by stakeholders, who see the airport’s potential to drive growth and development in Ekiti State.
As the airport prepares to commence operations, residents and investors alike are eagerly anticipating the opportunities it will bring.
