Lokoja – Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Edward Egbuka, has directed the Divisional Police Officers to put in place all necessary security measures to ensure a secure, peaceful and hitch-free Eid-el-Kabir celebration across the state.
Egbuka, gave directive in a statement issued in Lokoja on Friday by the state police command spokesman, SP William Aya.
According to the statement, the Divisional Police Officers are to embark on confidence building and crime prevention patrols on major highways, residential and, vulnerable points, places of worship and other places of public interest before and during the Eid-el -Kabir celebrations.
“Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) in the State, and their supervisory Area Commanders as well as Tactical Commanders should beef-up security ahead of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, to prevent any untoward situation in their Area of Responsibility (AoR) throughout the Eid-el-Kabir season and beyond,” the statement quoted Egbuka as saying.
While assuring residents of adequate security during the celebrations , Egbuka congratulated Muslim in the state on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
He reiterated the command’s preparedness, determination and commitment in synergy with other security agencies to ensure the safety of live and property of citizens at all times.
Egbuka said there is no space for crimes and criminality to thrive in and around the state, warning criminals to stay off the state in their own interest.
He enjoined people to remain security conscious throughout the period, urging them to continue to collaborate with the security agents by providing credible and useful information on the activities of criminal elements. (vitalnewsngr.com)
