A former Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Justice, Dr. Ali Ahmad, has has said that Nigeria will be great again.
He advised Nigerians not to be frustrated because of the current challenges facing the nation, adding that they should be hopeful, united, peaceful, and work for a better society.
Ahmad, who is also a former Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, admonished Christian faithful to exhibit the lessons of Easter.
Ahmad said, “This years Easter celebration is very unique as it coincides with the Holy Month of Ramadam.
“Such coincidence is very rare and promises great and glorious prospects for our nation. We the Muslim Ummah are still observing our fast during this Holy Month of Ramadan, while our Christian faithful are celebrating the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
“The coincidence brings hope that solutions for the nation’s challenges lie on the horizon. It brings a ray of hope that Nigeria will overcome its challenges. Nigerians, therefore, do not need to continue to despair as Almighty Allah will intervene and lurch our country to an enviable position in the comity of the nation. Nigeria will once again become a cynosure in the international community.
“Let us continue to pray to Almighty God that our country, Nigeria, will once again be free from insecurity, hunger, and poverty. Let us pray for unity, peace, progress, and the development of our dear country.
“Let us pray for a better for Nigerians and the generations yet unborn. Let us unite and work for a better Nigeria. We should put our nation first and avoid self-centered tendencies.”
He added, “For our Christian brothers and sisters, Easter is the celebration of the ascension of Jesus Christ. It marks Christ’s triumph over death. As people all over the world and particularly in Nigeria, celebrate this year’sEaster, I join in wishing our Christian brothers and sisters a joyful and hitch-free celebration.
“I also enjoin all Christians to imbibe and allow the lessons of Easter, which are sacrifice, holiness, harmonious co-existence,lunity to refelct in their daily lives. They should imbibe the lessons of love and sacrifice which the death and ressurrrectionof Jesus Christ signify. They should pursue peace at all times and be one another’s keepers.
“While celebrating, they should, whileon the roads, also be safety conscious and mindful of the other road users. They should obey traffic and safety rules to avoid accidents.” (vitalnews)
