“Additionally, the DHQ said the troops recovered over 200 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition,” the statement said.

It explained that troops on a returning patrol successfully foiled the surprise attack as reinforcements, including members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, vigilantes, and hybrid forces, quickly arrived and overpowered the terrorists.

It maintained that despite encountering an improvised explosive device that injured the Vigilante Commander, the reinforcement team helped decimate the fleeing insurgents.

Operation HADIN KAI‘s air component conducted air interdictions on the retreating terrorists, resulting in further casualties and weapon recoveries,” the statement said.

The DHQ reiterated the Armed Forces’ commitment to defeating insurgency and terrorism in the nation, emphasizing its awareness of its role and responsibility.
