Committee Of Friends Organises Reception In Honour Of Kogi Head Of Service, Elijah Evinemi

Preparations are in top gear for a grand reception in honour of the Kogi State Head of Civil Service, Dr. Elijah Adeiza Evinemi, FCA, slated for Friday, June 20, 2025.

The high-profile event, will hold at Kay Galaxy, opposite Atimah Housing Estate, Kogi State Secretariat, Lokoja starting from 9:00 a.m.

The event, which will bring together top government officials, traditional rulers, technocrats, and distinguished personalities, is being organised to celebrate Dr. Elijah Adeiza Evinemi for his inspirational quest for knowledge which culminated in his bagging of a Doctorate Degree in Accountancy and his remarkable contributions to the growth and reforms in the Kogi State civil service as number one Civil Servant of the State.

According to the Press Statement signed by the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Alhaji Adeiza Momojimoh, the reception will be held under the distinguished Chairmanship of Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, while the Accountant-General of Kogi State, Hajia Habibat Oyiza Tijjani, FCNA, will be the guest of honour at the occasion.

Adeiza added that His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, will be the Distinguished Special Guest of Honour while the Deputy Governor, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu will serve as Special Guest of Honour at the occasion.

The LOC Chairman informed that other Guests of Honour include: the Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Director-General, Government House Administration, Dr Umar Shaibu Oricha and Barrister Mamodu Deedat, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honourable Yakubu Adabanege, Auditor General of Local Government.

Also to grace the event as the Royal Father of the Day is His Majesty, Alhaji (Dr.) Ahmed Tijani Anaje, Ohinoyi of Egbira, while the Host Royal Father of the Day is His Majesty, the Maigari of Lokoja.

Other revered traditional rulers include HRH. Alhaji Akwu, Ejeh of Ofu and Chairman of Ofu Traditional Area Council, HRH. Alhaji Ahmed Abdulraheem-Ogido, Ohi Of Ihima, other Ohis from Kogi Central and other Royal Father’s.

Major highlights of the reception will be two the thought-provoking keynote addresses by Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, former Governor of Kogi State, who will speak on “Challenges in Nigerian Politics and Pathways to Sustainable Democratic Governance”, and Professor Sunday Eric Adewumi’s Lecture on “Digitizing Governance : Leveraging Computer Algorithms to Drive Kogi State Civil Service Reforms.”

Other expected special guests include; Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala, Auditor General, Kogi State, Alhaji Jibril Momoh, Former Accountant General, Kogi State, Chairperson, Kogi State Pension Board, all commissioners, Chief Judge, Kogi State, Clerk of the Kogi State House of Assembly and all Permanent Secretaries.

The event is expected to be a grand gathering of the crème de la crème of Kogi State’s leadership, both past and present.

It will serve as a celebration of excellence, service, and innovation in the public sector.

All government officials and members of the civil service have been specially invited to attend this landmark occasion.
