“The two-day free carnival will take place at the Old Parade Ground in Abuja on the 26 and 27 August; is the first of it’s kind and we are hoping to have it annually with full support from our sponsors.
“There will be art and funfair, there will be dance parade with the children and their supporters to encourage them.
“Over 500 children are expected at the old parade ground; there will be gifts presented to encourage the children.
“They will eat, drink and play and also pray too.
“These children need more care and attention; such events makes them more happy and gives them a sense of belonging,” she said.
According to the CEO, outdoor exercises through music, dance and arts remain the fastest means for children to learn.
She added that it would afford them the opportunity to show love, make new friends, exchange views, knowledge, and appreciate the core values of the society.
Onyebe explained that the programmes lined up during the carnival would in a special way address issues such as insecurity, as the children will learn to act carefully and be observant of activities around them.
She advised parents to build friendship and trust in their children, pray, encourage, monitor and correct them, for a better society. (NAN / vitalnewsngr.com)
