An chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Chief David Kente has donated a residential building worth N20 million to his childhood friend, Mr Ibrahim Ezra.
Kente, a governorship aspirant on the platform of APC in 2023 donated the building as part of activities to mark his 60th birthday.
Presenting the keys of the house at a brief ceremony in Wukari on Monday, Kente said he felt honoured to give back to his family and friends, especially today being the anniversary of his birth.
He explained that the gesture was part of activities lined up to mark his 60th birthday.
Kente recalled that he has personally contributed to the building or contributed to the completion of residential accommodation for the people of Kente, his ward and several others, within and outside Wukari.
Kente who is also the Chairman of DSK Foundation an NGO, also offset fines of 15 inmates of Wukari Correctional Centre to secure their freedom.
He explained that he did not only settle their fines, but also dolled out N1million for their transportation back to their homes.
In an interview, the recipient of the residential accommodation, Mr Ibrahim Ezrah, said it was the happiest day in his life.
He said : “I have been embarrassed many times by landlords because of rent.
“My wife had built a house and left me.
“Now I hear she is lobbying seriously to stage a come back, Just because childhood friend and brother has bailed me out.” (vitalnewsngr.com)
