Benue State has announced the death of four persons from suspected 16 cases of cholera so far recorded in the state.
The State Epidemiologist, Dr. Henry Ijabo, confirmed the development in a statement released to journalists in Makurdi on Thursday .
He said Agatu, Otukpo, and Ado local government council areas are where the suspected cholera cases and deaths have been recorded.
Ijabo said : “The death in suspected cases is four, mind you, it’s suspected cases. We don’t have confirmed cases in Benue yet.
“All that we have are suspected cases.
“Out of the 16 suspected cases, four died, they exhibited symptoms that are keeping with cholera but not confirmed.”
According to him, the four persons died while the investigation was still ongoing. (vitalnewsngr.com)
