Sokoto – Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed two persons and abducted 13 others in Mamman Suka community of Gwadabawa Local Government Council area of Sokoto State.
The bandits reportedly attacked the community a couple of days ago by firing gunshots indiscriminately at residents.
The community has been frequently attacked by gunmen, who kidnap for ransom and rustle livestock, among sundry crimes.
The incident, according to reports, has left many residents in fear, with some contemplating evacuating the community.
The council chairman, Alhaji Aminu Aya, confirmed the attack, saying the assailants operated freely for hours without resistance.
“The bandits abducted 11 females and two males. They also rustled some livestock and went away with valuables, including mobile phones and money.
“All these happened without any intervention nor support from the security agents.
“I also appeal to the army and other security agencies to make efforts to rescue the victims taken away by the attackers,” he said.
