The National President of the Building and Construction Skilled Artisans Association of Nigeria (BACSAAN), Alh. Fasasi Mohammed Jamiu has charged all artisans across the country to obtain voters’ card in readiness for the 2027 general elections
Alh. Fasasi made the call on Thursday in Abuja during a working visit to BACSAAN members engaged on some construction sites in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Samson Munse, BACSAAN Information Officer, in a statement said the National President also enjoined artisans, who have attained the 18-year voting age, to ensure that they obtained voter cards so that the handwork professionals would play patriotic roles in the 2027 general elections.
The BACSAAN National President also charged artisans whose voter cards had been defaced or damaged to visit the offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nearest to them to regilarise such cards
Alh. Fasasi, urged all artisans to see active participation in the 2027 electoral process as a compulsory national obligation to keep the nation on the path of greatness and prosperity.
He stressed that with the over 25 Million membership strength of BACSAAN from across the country, the artisans would have a major voting block to ensure that they remain a relevant and crucial sector of Nigeria’s democratic process.
Alh. Fasasi assured the BACSAAN members that the Association was working to explore the several economic empowerment opportunities being unfolded by the Federal Government.
”We are visiting and discussing with the relevant existing agencies of the federal government and the new ones initiated by the current administration of President Bola Tinubu to ensure that artisans nationwide gets the best benefits from them,” the BACSAAN Leader disclosed.
BACSAAN is the national umbrella body for all artisans in Nigeria, including Masons, Welders, Iron Benders. Block Moulders, Painters, POP makers, electricians, Plumbers, Carpenters, Furniture Makers, among others.
BACSAAN membership strength, according to the Association’s leadership, is put at 25 million Nigerians
