Justice Ibironke Harrison of a Lagos High Court sitting at Tafawa Balewa Square has sentenced a police officer, Darambi Vandi, to death by hanging for killing a Lagos-based lawyer, Mrs Omobolanle Raheem .
Vandi shot dead Raheem on Dec. 25, 2022, at Ajah Roundabout, on Lekki- Expressway, Lagos State.
The prosecution team led by the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo, called 11 witnesses, including eight police officers.
The other prosecution witnesses include two eyewitnesses and a pathologist.
Justice Harrison found Vandi, an Assistant Superintendent Of Police guilty on one count preferred against him by the Lagos State government.
“I hereby pronounce that you Drambi Vandi shall be hanged by the neck until death. May God have mercy on you,” Justice Harrison said while pronouncing Vandi guilty of the offence of killing Bolanle Raheem.
