Makurdi – Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia has again emerged winner of the All Progressive Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Benue State.
Father Hyacinth Alia was announced winner of the rescheduled governorship primary election of the All Progressive Congress on Friday by the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Basheer Lado.
According to Lado, Reverend Father Alia polled 410,682 votes to beat his closet rival, Barr Sam Ode, who polled 22,319.
“With this document before me, I hereby declare Rev Fr Hyacinth Iormem Alia who scored a total number of 410,682 votes; having scored the highest number of votes as the winner of this election,” Lado announced
Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia will fly the party’s flag in the next month gubernatorial elections.
The Appeal Panel led by Chairman Umar Kolo has said that the Panel would resume sitting to listen to candidate who were not satisfied with the just concluded result of the primaries
