Lokoja – Latest report on the August 5 security breach at Ajaokuta Local Government area of Kogi State indicated that the gunmen also abducted three Indian Expatriates working with the Royal Ceramic Company in the community.

It was also gathered that the gunmen, said to be about six in number also made away with AK-47 rifles of the two police inspectors killed during the attack.

vitalnewsnngr.com further gathered that only one expatriate was killed by the gunmen and not two as earlier stated in a statement issued by police.

The Expatriates are all workers of the Royal Ceramic Company and not West Africa Ceramic Company as earlier stated by police.

It was also gathered that the expatriates were heading to their quarters which is less than 200 metres to their factory when the gunmen opened fire on them at about 8:30pm.

Reports said that four policemen were escorting the expatriates to their quarters in two official cars when they were attacked.

“The victims were attacked immediately they left the factory for their quarters near River Niger bridge,” a source in the village said.

Meanwhile, the corpses of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of ASCOL Medical Centre located in Ajaokuta Steel Complex.

The younger brother of one of killed drivers, Abubakar Mohammed said his late brother, Ibrahim Garba, a senior driver with the Royal Ceramic Company spoke with him on phone around 8pm only for him to receive a call at about 8:30 pm that he has been killed

Kogi State Government while reacting to the latest killings described the incident as unfortunate and condemnable.

In a statement issued on Saturday in Lokoja by the State Commissioner for information and communication, Kingsley Fanwo, government said policemen and other security agents are currently combing bushes in the area to apprehend the perpetrators of the heinous act.

He stated that investigations are still at an early stage now, saying that government has the capacity to protect life and property of citizens.

Fanwo, appealed to residents to co-operate with security agencies to enable them to perform their duties. (vitalnewsngr.com )
