Former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State to close ranks, embrace reconciliation and remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Saraki made the call after arriving in Ilorin, where he was received by a large crowd of PDP supporters at the Ilorin International Airport before proceeding to his residence, where he addressed party members and supporters.
According to his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki expressed appreciation to the people of Kwara for their continued confidence in his leadership and commitment to the development of the state.
He commended PDP members and aspirants for demonstrating sacrifice, maturity and loyalty to the party, particularly those who accepted the outcome of its internal processes and the emergence of the party’s candidates.
Saraki also praised party members for their accommodating attitude towards former members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who recently joined the PDP across various wards and local government areas.
He said the strength of the PDP depended largely on its ability to accommodate differences, reconcile divergent interests and unite members around a common goal.
According to him, the strength of the party lies in our ability to unite, accommodate our differences and work together towards a common objective.
National Assembly candidates at the gathering also thanked the party leadership and members for their support and confidence, pledging their loyalty to the PDP and commitment to Saraki’s leadership.
They assured the gathering that they would work collectively with other members to strengthen the party and secure victory in the 2027 elections.
The meeting underscored renewed efforts towards unity and reconciliation within the Kwara PDP as the party intensifies its mobilisation and preparations for the 2027 polls. (vitalnewsngr.com)
