Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State on Friday commended Chief Oba Otudeko for his impactful contributions to the economy of Nigeria and the prosperity of Nigerians as one of the biggest employers of labour through his conglomerate.
Abiodun made the commendation in a statement to congratulate the 80th birthday anniversary of Otudeko.
Oba Otudeko, born on August 18, 1943, in Ibadan, Oyo State turns 80 years on Friday.
Abiodun, in the statement by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Lekan Adeniran described the founder and chairman of Honeywell Group as an astute investor and industrialist, who contributed immensely to the Nigerian economy in diverse areas, such as oil and gas, banking, flour milling, real estate among others.
He said Otudeko became a household name in Nigeria through dint of hardwork and perseverance, which ensured his resounding success in the various sectors where he is a frontrunner.
Oba Otudeko, the governor added, ensured that investment flowed into the country when he served as the chairman of the Nigerian-South African Chamber of Commerce (NSACC).
Governor Abiodun said Oba Otudeko is worthy to be celebrated as a foremost industrialist in the country, a great son of Ogun State, and a source of inspiration to many Nigerians.
The governor also praised the celebrant’s philanthropic gesture through Oba Otudeko Foundation, which focuses on education, health, and the environment.
Prince Abiodun wished him a joyous celebration and prayed to God to preserve his life in good health.
