Medical Doctor Remanded Over N8.5mln Fraud

A Medical Doctor, Okeogene Rawlings Godwin, has been remanded in the Port Harcourt Correctional Service over an alleged fraud of N8.5 million.

Justice P. Ayua of the Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on Tuesday remanded the suspect for obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to Section 1 (1) (a) and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act.

He was remanded after pleading “not guilty” to five counts preferred against him and his company, Rhurrs Limited.

He was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Port Harcourt Zonal Command on Monday, November 21, 2022, a statement issued by the anti-graft said on Tuesday.

“Justice P. “He was remanded after pleading “not guilty” to a five-count charge preferred against him and his company, Rhurrs Limited, upon being arraigned by the EFCC, Port Harcourt Zonal Command on Monday, November 21, 2022,” the statement reads.
