Lokoja – A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi State, Hajia Ramatu Shehu Atta has expressed support for the choice of Sen. Kashim Shettima as the running mate of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 elections.
Atta who stated this a press release in Lokoja on Wednesday said that the APC is now in a good stead to win the 2023 presidential election with the combination of two acclaimed tested and trusted politicians; Tinubu and Shettima.
“The combination of these two men with solid background and exposure in both executive and legislative processes will put the legislature and the Presidency in a robust relationship for an excellent collaboration.
“One must commend the courageous decision of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for exhibiting his leadership traits once again at a time the party seemed to be at crossroads,” Atta said in the press releases signed personally by her.
She then pledged to deploy her political structure and connections of her supporters to ensure that victory is attained for the party in all the elections holding in 2023.
She appealed to APC members across the country to support the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket by embarking on door -to- door mobilisation of voters in all the nook and cranny of the country.
It will be recalled that Atta, a lawyer by profession contested the Senatorial Primaries of APC in Kogi Central Senatorial district.
Not satisfied with the process and outcome, she petitioned the Party Appeal Committee which refused to entertain her appeal.
She then filed a petition at a Lokoja High Court.
The party leadership at the State level prevailed on her to withdraw the case and work for the interest of the party and she complied.
Hajia Ramatu Shehu Atta also during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration with her ardent supporters at Ihima Shopping Complex, Okehi, donated cash, clothes, rice and other items to them.
Responding to the gesture, one of the women leaders from Okehi Local Government Area, restated their commitment and support to the political movement of Hajia Ramat Sheu Atta.
She pointed out that her consistent support for them over the past 10 years cannot be wished away like that.
The woman leader said the group has concluded arrangements to embark on door-to-door campaigns in Kogi Central Senatorial district with women and youths as targets to boost the fortunes of the party ahead the 2023 elections.(vitalnewsngr.com)
