The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman who was recently sentenced to 75 years imprisonment over N33.8 billion fraud case.
The Chairman of EFCC, Ola Olukoyede confirmed the arrest of Mamman on Tuesday in Abuja
Olukoyede disclosed that the former minister was apprehended around 3:30 a.m., describing the operation as part of the commission’s ongoing efforts to enforce accountability in public service.
“I’m happy to announce to Nigerians that at 3:30 this morning, we arrested Saleh Mamman,” the EFCC chairman stated.
Meanwhile, the EFCC has released the mugshots of former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman.
Mamman, who served under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, was recently convicted in connection with the alleged diversion and laundering of public funds amounting to N33.8 billion.
The anti-graft agency has maintained that the arrest demonstrates its commitment to pursuing high-profile corruption cases and ensuring that public officials found culpable face the full weight of the law.
