Abuja – Mrs Zainab Ahmed, the Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning has suspended Ahmed Idris, the Accountant-General of the Federation.
Idris’s suspension was conveyed
to him in a letter signed by the minister and dated May 18, 2022.
The letter personally addressed
to Idris said the suspension is “without pay” was to allow for “proper and unhindered investigation” in line with public service rules.
It will be recalled that the suspended Accountant -General
was arrested by the Economic
and Financial Crime Commission
on Tuesday over alleged diversion and laundering of N80 billion. (vitalnews)
