The Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has conveyed deep sympathy to the people of Adamawa State over the severe flooding in Yola North and Yola South Local Government Areas, which has resulted in loss of lives, destruction of property, and displacement of many residents.
Speaking on behalf of the Forum, NGF Chairman and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, stated, “We stand firmly with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the people of Adamawa as they confront the challenges posed by this tragic natural disaster.
“Our thoughts are with those affected, and we are ready to provide any necessary support to complement the relief efforts already underway.”
The Forum applauded the prompt response of the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigerian Army, whose marine units were quickly deployed following a request by the state government to assist residents trapped by the floods.
Governor AbdulRazaq emphasized the importance of unity in times of crisis, saying, “In moments like these, cooperation between all levels of government and security agencies is crucial to saving lives and mitigating suffering.”
The NGF remains committed to supporting Adamawa as it mobilizes resources to manage this humanitarian situation.
