LPPC Shortlists 74 Lawyers For SAN Rank, Calls For Public Scrutiny

The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) has shortlisted 72 lawyers for the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The names of the shortlisted applicants were contained in a notice released on Tuesday by the Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court and Secretary of the LPPC, Kabir Eniola Akanbi

The notice said the shortlisted candidates have successfully scaled through the screening stages :

It said the stages, were integral to ensuring that only the most deserving legal practitioners attain the SAN rank, which is widely regarded as a mark of distinction, honour, and leadership in the legal profession.

The list released consists of a total of 57 Advocate Applicants and 15 Academic Applicants, selected in line with the LPPC Guidelines.

LPPC said : “The general public is hereby invited to submit comments on the integrity, reputation, and competence of the listed candidates.

‘ Every complaint must be accompanied with a verifying affidavit deposed to by the author before a Superior Court of Record in Nigeria or a Notary Public, submitted in 20 copies to the LPPC Secretariat no later than 4:00 pm on Monday, July 14, 2025.
