The NiDCOM Boss reminded Nigerian diaspora groups that the Commission will readily cooperate with organizations prioritizing the welfare of Nigerians abroad.

Mr. Uche Okugo, President Network of Nigerians in Canada (NNC), remarked that the initiative will provide tailored services for prospective and current Nigerian immigrants in Canada.

He said this is to enable them to adjust to their new environment quickly and contribute meaningfully to society.

“The Re-emergence of the refugee situation, settlement issues, and chronic housing situation in Canada has necessitated the opening of the center to serve the Nigeria Immigrant community, ” according to Dr. Olufemi Adegun, Head, Planning Committee, Nigeria Immigrant Welcome Centre.

The Centre will offer a wide range of services including career mentoring, settlement support, job placement, language coaching, empowerment programs, and food bank assistance.

The maiden Nigerian Immigrants Welcome Centre is set to open on April 12, 2025.
