Gov. Ododo Unveils Kogi’s 2025 Budget Of N582bln

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State on Tuesday announced N582,404,119,489 as the total budget estimate of the state for the 2025 fiscal year.

The budget estimate tagged ” Budget of Inclusive Development ” is made up of Recurrent expenditure of N279,590,215, 687, representing 48.01 pct and capital expenditure of N302,813,903,802 representing, 51.99pct.

The 2025 budget proposal is more than N176 billion more than the state’s 2024 budget of N406 billion.

Ododo while presenting the budget to members of the state house of assembly put the performance of the 2024 budget at 60:53 per cent for recurrent expenditure, saying that the capital expenditure recorded 77.25 per cent performance.

While promising to complete ongoing projects in the next fiscal year, Ododo promised that road, housing, education, agriculture, economic development, health and social services are the key sectors that will be accorded due priority in 2025 .

Earlier while welcoming Governor Ododo , the Speaker of the state house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Umar Yusuf appreciated the the governor for creating enabling environment for legislation.

He urged heads of MDAs to comply with the budget approval to enhance socio-economic development of the State.

Yusuf also promised speedy consideration and approval of the budget proposal by the assembly.
