The new Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Hon.Engr. Muhammed Ahovi Yusuf has charged the management and staff of the ministry to remain committed to their statutory responsibility and be proactive in discharging their official duties.
Yusuf made the charge in Lokoja on Monday while addressing the Staff and Management of the ministry of works on his formal assumption of office.
He specially appreciated former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, the current governor, Usman Ahmed Ododo and the State chapter of the All Progressive Party (APC) for the opportunity given to him to serve as a commissioner in the State.
According to him, Ododo is a man of development and would want to consolidate on the giant strides of former Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello in infrastructure.
He stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to sustain the tempo.
“As you all know, the civil servants are the engine room of the Government therefore there is need to be committed, diligent and proactive in order to enhance service delivery,” Yusuf said
He also stated the governor’s readiness to give necessary supports to the ministry as the ministry that is saddled with the responsibility of providing infrastructural development of the state.
Yusuf further promised to bring innovations to the ministry by creating programmes that would attract both domestic and foreign investors to the state.
In his remarks ,the Permanent Secretary of the ministry , Engr Emmanuel O. Audu congratulated the commissioner on his appointment,.
He promised that the management and staff of the ministry would give maximum co-operation in moving the ministry forward.
The Permanent Secretary finally thanked Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for appointing a professional to pilot the affairs of a technical Ministry like works adding that he has put a round peg in a round hole. (vitalnewsngr.com)
