The Deputy National Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Setonji Koshoedo has commiserated with Governor Seyi Makinde, government and people of Oyo State over Tuesday, 16th of January, 2024 explosion in Bodija area Ibadan.
Koshoedo in a condolence message to Governor Makinde described the incident as a monumental tragedy.
He expressed regret over the wanton loss of lives and properties occasioned by the blast.
Koshoedo commended the Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, for rising swiftly to the occasion personally, as well as dispatching emergency managers as first responders to the scene of the blast to save further loss of lives and properties.
The PDP Deputy National Secretary expressed absolute confidence in the state government’s capacity and preparedness in ensuring that the perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book, even as he assured the people of the state that the state government is on top of the situation.
He said: “I extend my deepest heartfelt condolences to the government and the people of Oyo State, particularly the families who lost their loved ones, those who were injured and those whose properties were destroyed in the tragic explosion.”
The Deputy National Secretary of the PDP, stated that Ibadan is strategic to the development of Nigeria by its historic importance and calls on all PDP members to jointly “stand up in solidarity in sharing the pains of the victims of the unfortunate incident.”
