Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), on Sunday arrested a driver, Sarafa Oladiji, for allegedly damaging the truck barrier on Dorman-Long Bridge, Surulere area inwards Ikorodu road.

Oladiji was arrested after he forcefully drove his truck under the newly installed truck barrier on the Dorman-Long Bridge.

Director, Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA. Mr Taofik Adebayo confirmed the arrest of the driver in a statement.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the truck which was fully loaded with compressed papers damaged the barrier after he got trapped and the driver forced the truck out under the barrier,” the statement said

It was gathered that the fully loaded truck was on its way to Shagamu from Alakija where he loaded before the incident occurred.
