Nigeria has won two gold medals and one silver medal at the ongoing 7th Commonwealth Youth Games holding in city of Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.
Faith Okwose, a young sprinter with lightning speed, proved to be unstoppable in the women’s 100 meters race.
She posted 11.26 seconds to win the gold, while the second-placed Justina Eyakpibeyan posted 11.29 secs to settle for the silver medal.
With her impeccable technique and sheer determination, she left her competitors trailing behind, crossing the finish line in first place.
The entire acknowledged her well-deserved gold medal finish.
But that was not the only gold medal Nigeria won on that glorious day.
Destiny Nkemakonam Agbo, a promising athlete in the women’s Discus throw F42-44/F61 category, unleashed a throw that left everyone in awe.
With her powerful arms and expert technique, Agbo sent the discus soaring through the air, far beyond her competitors’ reach.
She too climbed the podium, the golden hue of the medal shining bright against her beaming smile.
Amid these victories, Justina Eyakpibeyan quietly etched her name into the annals of Nigerian sporting.
