Lagos – The General Manager of the Lagos State Agricultural Lands Holdings Authority (ALHA), Mr. Oladapo Muhammed Are has been honoured with the Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity by the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN).
Receiving the Award recently at the Conference Room of ALHA in Agege, Lagos, Are said that the recognition is an affirmation of his committed efforts towards the statutory responsibilities of the agency.
He said the award has also made him realise that there is a reward for every effort.
According to him, since his appointment as the General Manager of ALHA, the agency has witnessed an unprecedented transformation that has upgraded it to a critical organisation that supports the drive of the state government toward sufficiency in food production.
“As a result of the laudable repositioning of the agency by the management team, ALHA has witnessed considerable and commendable improvement in revenue generation and staff welfare, ” he said.
Also speaking at the event, the Director of Agric-Techinical Services, ALHA, Mr. Hakeem Anjolaiya, remarked that Are has been a blessing to the agency since his appointment.
He said his broad knowledge and vast experience as an economist have contributed positively to the growth of food supply through Agricultural Land in Lagos State.
Earlier, the President of the Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN), Olakunle Olajide said the association deemed it fit to bestow the award on Are because of his laudable achievements since his appointment as the Head of the agency.
Olajide described the General Manager of ALHA as a beacon of hope to the Nigerian youth and was considered for the highest award of the organisation on account of his sterling performance in the public sector (PR/vitalnewsngr.com)
