Lokoja – The Chairman, Kogi State People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Mr Yakubu Muhammed, has lauded the peaceful conduct of the party’s Local Government Congresses in the State.
The Chairman, who gave the commendation in an interview with newsmen in Lokoja on Sunday, described the Congresses as a “litmus test” and “credible.”
Muhammed said that the Congresses were free, fair and successful because the wills and choices of the people were respected.
“PRP is the masses’ political party, which respects the wills and aspirations of the people against injustice and oppression.
“This explains why in all the 21 local governments of Kogi, we recorded zero crisis and rancour during our Congresses, held on Saturday, Jan. 29,” he asserted.
The PRP Chairman explained that the positions were justly shared amongst the various wards in the LGAs in agreement by party members and supporters.
According to him, “what we did was just affirm those who were nominated to occupy the various positions according to the wards to form the EXCO for each Area.”
He commended the teaming members and supporters of the party for actively participating in the Congresses, and for their peaceful conduct, which gave credence to the party in Kogi and Nigeria as a whole.
Our Correspondent reports that some of the LGA Congress results showed that in Ijumu LGA, the Chairmanship position went to Mr Ologe Adewale, Vice Chairman – Ayeni Clement, Secretary – Tunde Kabir and Publicity Secretary – Bolaji Emmanuel.
In Dekina LGA: Chairman – Mr Ali Zekeri, Vice Chairman – Dangara Abdul-Ismail, Secretary – Ogwu Okpanachi and Publicity Secretary – Sedie Sufiya.
Also for the EXCO in Ankpa LG, Chairman – Ademu Ibrahim, Vice Chairman – Abdulahi Aduku, Secretary – Adejoh J. Adaji and Publicty Secretary – Yusuf Isah-Ejiga. (vitalnews)
