Mecca – The 721 pilgrims from Kogi State to this year’s hajj have all arrived Makkah, Saudi Arabia in continuation of the activities for the Hajj exercise.
The state Amirul Hajj, Mallam Zakariyahu Aliyu Abubakar who disclosed this said the pilgrims are fully accommodated.
“After the completion of the first and second phases, they are now awaiting the third phase which is the Hajj proper.
“This begins from the 8th day of Dhul-Hijja, the twelfth month of Islamic calendar.
“During the second phase, they completed the performance of Umrah which entails, the welcoming circumumblation of Ka’abah, offering of two rakah prayers at the site of Prophet Ibrahim Alayhi Sallam and the compulsory movement between mounts Safa and Marwa seven times, thereby concluding the Umrah known as lesser Hajj,” the Amirul Hajj explained while giving updates on the hajj exercise.
Also speaking on the 2023 hajj exercise, the
Executive Chairman of Kogi State Hajj Commission, Sheikh Luqman Imam Abdullahi has strongly admonished the State pilgrims to limit their movements, especially in the day time in view of the harsh weather emanating from the scorching sun.
This according to him is to avoid sunstroke.
Abdullahi said as all the pilgrims are in good health condition and eagerly waiting to perform all hajj writes. (vitalnewsngr.com)
