Ilorin – The Kwara State Police Command has arrested six suspected kidnappers and ,14 other suspects believed to be involved in criminal activities in the state.
Parading the suspects in Ilorin on Thursday, the state Commissioner of police, Mr Paul Odama , said one of the suspects, who he identified as Abubakar Sheu aka Dogo was responsible for the abduction of Chief Magistrate Jumoke Bamgboye at Eyenkorin area, Ilorin sometime last year.
The Magistrate is the wife of former Bauchi and Osun States military governor, retired Brig -Gen. Theophilus Bamgboye.
He said Dogo, the leader of a kidnap gang was arrested by a combined team of vigilantee and policemen at Eiyenkorin based on intelligence information.
Odama said the command arrested 20 other criminal suspects from whom charms and arms were recovered.
He said they include a set of five kidnappers arrested in the forest by a team of Policemen attached to Banni Division in conjunction with local vigilantee.
Odama , said the suspects have confessed to the offence while police are still on the trail of two members of the gang; Bayo Dudu and Aliyu Abubakar believed to be living in the neighbouring Niger State.
According to Odama, 11 other suspects were arrested for offences bordering on being members of secret cults, attempt to commit culpable homicide and belonging to gang of thieves.
The Commissioner said all the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded. (vitalnewsngr.com)
