Five police officers died while 11 others sustained serious injuries in a ghastly motor accident which occurred on Zaria-Kano road in Kano State on Tuesday.
The accident happened at Karfi village in the Kura Local Government Area of Kano in the early hours of Tuesday.
The accident occured when the vehicle in which the police officers were travelling had a head-on collision with a trailer.
SP Abdullahi Haruna, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the accident.
He said the officers were returning to Kano grom an official engagement when they were involved in the accident.
He said the injured police personnel were taken to Murtala Mohammad Specialist Hospital for treatment.
“The accident occurred at Karfi, a few kilometres to Kano and five of the officers died as a result of the accident while 11 others sustained injuries,” he said. (vitalnewsngr.com)
