At least 37 people were killed while several others sustained injuries in an accident involving two 18-seater buses on Maiduguri/ Damaturu highway in Kondugua Local Government Area of Borno State.
Daily Trust gathered that the accident happened around 10:00am on Tuesday.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Borno State, Utten Iki Boyi, confirmed the incident to Daily Trust, saying he counted 37 corpses aside those who got burnt.
“As we speak I am not myself,” he said
“We also lost five people to an accident on the same highway yesterday. This is so sad, “Boyi added.
The development occurred hours after 17 passengers who were heading for Lagos from Gombe got burnt in an accident in Abuja.( Daily Trust)
