2 Children, 4 Others Killed In Fresh Bandit Attack On Kaduna Community

Six persons have been killed by bandits in a fresh attack on Takanai community in Atyap Chiefdom, Zango Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Acting Secretary to the District Head of the affected community, Samson Markus, confirmed the attack on the community to journalists.

Markus, said the attack occurred late Tuesday night of September 26, 2023.

He said the bandits descended upon the community, unleashing gun attack which claimed the lives of six people, including two children.

Kaduna State Police Command is yet to comment on the incident.

He said the unsuspecting residents initially mistook the gunshots for military activity, but by the time the military arrived, the assailants had already inflicted tragic losses upon the community.

Markus expressed deep sadness over the incident and highlighted the continued occurrence of such tragic events in villages, even when it was believed that peace had been restored.

He appealed to both the government and the military to intensify their efforts in combating the terrorists responsible for these invasions that result in the loss of innocent lives.

The incident in Takanai follows a recent attack in a neighboring community of Kaura, where bandits killed a mother and kidnapped her children just five days prior.

The security situation in certain parts of Kaduna State remains a cause for concern, emphasizing the need for continued vigilance and efforts to restore lasting peace. (vitalnewsngr.com)
