“Peace is indeed not the absence of conflict, but the presence of justice; justice for the innocent lives lost, justice for the indigenous Nigerians displaced, and justice for the marginalized Biafrans,” She explained.
Orabueze said the opportunity of the conference was used to call the attention of the global community to the “continuous subjugation of Biafrans in Nigeria, through the means of brute military force by the Nigerian government resulting in extrajudicial killings of innocent people in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria.”
She submitted that the pains that come with wars are always better imagined hence, the urgent call for strict observation of inalienable rights of individuals and group of individuals, especially their fundamental right to self-determination.
Theo woman activist also called for an end to the ongoing cruelty, killings, forceful occupation, and confrontation and advocated compassion, peace, and dialogue.
