Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has inaugurated a seven-member committee to coordinate humanitarian support for the Woro community and victims of recent banditry attacks in the community.
The committee, announced on Friday by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, will engage directly with community leaders to identify needs, support rebuilding efforts, and resolve outstanding issues.
Hon. Ahmed Kiwozi, former lawmaker from Kaiama Local Government Area, was appointed Chairman of the committee.
Other members include the Vice Chairman of Kaiama Local Government Council, Aisha Abubakar Sadiq; Alhaji Abubakar Mora; Woro Village Head, Alhaji Umar Bio Saliu; representatives from the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) and the Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP); and a female representative from the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
“The committee has been given four weeks to complete its assignment and ensure that the needs of the affected community are fully addressed,” Ajakaye said.
Governor AbdulRazaq had earlier pledged immediate humanitarian support to the victims of the Woro incident, stressing the government’s commitment to the welfare of all communities in Kwara State. (vitalnewsngr.com)
