Atsi Kefas, younger sister of Gov. Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, who recently sustained bullet wounds from an accidental discharge from the gun of a police escort has died.

The 44 year old lady, died in a private hospital in Abuja in the early hours of Tuesday while receiving treatment

Recall that the vehicle in which Atsi was traveling in the company of their mother Mrs. Jummai Kefas, came under attack from gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, on their way to Abuja on December 5, along Wukari-Kente road under the Wukari Council Area of the state.

Investigations revealed that suspected kidnappers had targeted Governor Kefas’ Mother for kidnap when they attacked the convoy.

Atsi was initially rushed to the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Wukari where her condition was stabilized before she was flown to Abuja for further treatment.

The family sources further revealed that doctors have been battling to save Atsi’s live in a private hospital in Abuja since Thursday last week before she finally died in the early hours of Tuesday December 10.

As at press time, there has not been any official statement from the state government concerning the death of the Governor’s younger Sister. (vitalnewsngr.com)
