The Rivers State House of Assembly on Wednesday said members will fully abide the six – month state of emergency declared in the state by President Bola Tinubu.

The Speaker of the assembly, Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule, stated this in a statement on Wednesday.

Amaewhule, on behal of his colleagues accused Governor, Siminalayi Fubara of precipitating the political crisis that led to the declaration of the state of emergency.

He cited Fubara’s repeated disregard for court rulings and unconstitutional actions as being responsible for the situation in the state.

The lawmakers accused Fubara of obstructing them from performing their duties, a development, they said worsened governance in the state.
