Senate Presidency : North West Youths Insist On Yari , Express Dismay Over Tinubu’s Support For Akpabio

Abuja – The North West zone of the Arewa Youths Of Nigeria (AYON) has expressed dismay over the purported endorsement of the South South to produce the next President of the Senate.

Useni Abubakar, stated this at a press conference he addressed in Abuja on Thursday on behalf of the Zonal Co-ordinator, Dr Tanko Abdullahi.

Abubakar said the North West is the appropriate zone to produce the next senate President going by the zone’s contributions to the victory of the All Progresses Congress (APC) in the last general elections.

Abubakar who spoke with journalists shortly after the zonal executive council meeting of the AYON said the group’s support for the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the presidential election was based on the understanding that the zone will be aptly rewarded.

Abubakar said categorically that members of AYON, North West zone Youth will not sit by and risk the votes over 2,651,957 voters that voted Tinubu during the presidential elections.

“We assure the President-elect that the North-west support for him was as a result of our belief that the President-elect is a man who believes that POLITICAL LOYALTY CAN ONLY BE PAID BACK WITH POLITICAL
LOYALTY.

” That Citing the above reason, we were astonished, dismayed and appalled when we read in the news that the President-Elect was supporting a South-South candidate for Senate President rather than the North-west that gave him the most votes in the General election.

“That we do not know the President-Elect as a use and dump leader hence we want to remind the Senator Tinubu should not allow Nigerians begin to see him from the angle of having used and dumped the good People of North-west Nigeria.

“That doesn’t it amount to political suicide to support a South-South that contributed a mere 799,957 votes just 9% of the total votes to a North-west that contributed 2,651,927 over 30% votes to Senator Tinubu.

“That we have intentionally reeled out this figures so that the President-elect will know that those sycophants trying to deceive him do not wish him well.

“That we the North-West youth stand solidly with the Northern Students, Women and Leaders that are calling for the Senate President to be domiciled in the North West.

“That the North-west Youth will feel betrayed by the President-elect if he goes ahead to support Governor Godswill Akpabio as against Governor Abdul Aziz Yari.

“That Governor who is known as the Political Party Jumpologist can not be trusted as a True APC party man.

” That Having betrayed PDP he will still betray APC because of his quest for power.

“That it is a common knowledge that the Presidential election result is a subject of litigation and per adventure that the election is annulled (God-forbid though) we cannot trust Governor Akpabio with such powers.

“That Governor Yari is not only a trusted man but a man that President Tinubu can go to bed with his two eyes closed knowing he is not desperate for power.

“That the North-west YOUTHS beckon on President-elect Tinubu to call Akpabio and tell him to address his EFCC issues, the Sexual scandal with Joy Nuneh (former acting MD of NDDC), and other messy scandals surrounding him.

“The Nigerian Senate is not an image laundering office but a sacred office. Any man with baggage should go and purge himself of his baggage,” the statement explained. (vitalnewsngr.com)
