The Eruku Community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State said a video message circulating widely and claiming that bandits behind the bloody attack on a church in the town is false.

The community in a WhatsApp statement obtained by Vital News late Thursday said : ” The video being shared is not from the recent incident.”

The community further said : “It is actually footage from an earlier arrest carried out by the Eruku Vigilantes on September 14, 2025.

“Records also show that Egbe Mekun Parrot first reported that September arrest when it happened.

“Residents are urged to disregard the viral message and rely on verified updates only.”

The armed bandits had on November 18, 2025 attacked the CAC Church in Eruku, where they killed three worshippers and kidnapped 35 others.

However, community sources have confirmed that the report of the purported arrest of the culorits as being claimed in a trending video is false.

The position of the Eruku community therefore tallied with that of the Kwara State Police Command which had earlier in the day debunked the arrest of the perpetrators of the dastardly attack and described it false. (vitalnewsngr.com)
