A former Nigeria”s Minister of Petroleum Resources, Professor Jibril Aminu is dead.
Professor Aminu died in the early hours of Thursday, June 5, 2025 in Abuja.
He was 85 years old haven been born in August 1939, at Song, Adamawa State.
Professor Aminu was also a Senator,representing Adamawa Central from 2003 to 2007.
A statement informing the Muslim Ummah of his death said Salatul Janazah (Funeral Prayer) will be held for him at National Mosque, Abuja today after Zuhr Prayer..

Burials / interment will later hold at Song, Adamawa State.
He is survived by two wives,
Fatima Bukar Mulima and
nine children.
Professor Jibril Muhammad Aminu who was previously known as Aminu Song, was a professor of cardiology and was among first set of medical students that graduated from the prestigious University Of Ibadan.
He was also Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States from 1999 to 2003 and served as the senator representing Adamawa Central senatorial district from 2003 to 2011 in the platform of the PDP.
