NUT: Western Bloc Exonerates Kogi Deputy Governor From Misleading Press Release by “Okun Stakeholders Forum”, Insists On Truth, Unity, Progress.
The attention of the Western Bloc, of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Kogi State wing has been drawn to the displeasure of the Kogi State Deputy Governor in reference to him at a Press Conference organized by the Western bloc.
We wish to use this medium to make clarification that the position of the NUT Western bloc was aimed at sounding a word of caution concerning the way his Personal Assistant, Mr. SULEIMAN Oberja was going about and telling people that the message he was preaching, contrary to the NUT Conference declaration was a message from his Principal HIS EXCELLENCY, Comrade Joel Salifu
We have it on good authority that in all the places the Personal Assistant visited, he spoke contrary to the spirit and letters of the last and subsisting delegates conference resolution on rotation and tenure of office.
This development was what led the Western bloc of the NUT to hold a press conference to set the record straight and draw His Excellency’s attention to the nefarious and mischievous activities of His Personal Assistant, so that he can call him to order.The press release was not meant to bring His Excellency’s personality or office to ridicule.
We, however, apologize and regret any embarrassment and inconvenience our actions may have caused His Excellency, the Deputy Governor.
Once again, we restate our esteemed assurances and best regards to His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of our dear State.
